What Sqwhere: Doodle Puzzle collects, why it collects it, and the choices you have — including how Google AdMob advertising works in the App.
Effective and last updated: November 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Find the Square, Inc. ("we", "us") handles information in connection with the Sqwhere: Doodle Puzzle mobile game for Android and iOS, formerly called Square Within (the "App") and this website. If you have questions, contact us at privacy@sqwhere.cc.
1. The App at a glance
Sqwhere: Doodle Puzzle is a single-player drawing puzzle. The App does not include in-game chat, multiplayer, social or user-content uploads, or a separate email account. It does not request access to your location, camera, microphone or contacts, and it does not include a separate Firebase Analytics SDK.
Core puzzles work offline. Practice and Ranked progress (such as puzzle seed and level, puzzle identifier, solved and hint state, and score and attempt counters) is saved locally on your device, including in secure storage, so you can resume play and so paid hints are protected. Where a developer backend we configure is available, this progress may also be synced to it using a guest wallet identifier and a device credential, even if you never link a platform account. Daily Shape results stay on your device unless you choose to share them through your device's system share sheet. Theme and haptic preferences may be kept only for the current session.
When you solve a puzzle, a solve-reward journal on your device records the puzzle identifier and game mode. Where a developer backend we configure is available, those records are submitted to it so earned coins can be credited. The shapes you draw while solving puzzles are used to play the game on your device; raw drawing traces stay on your device and we do not upload them.
2. Platform save services (when enabled)
Guest play, local saves and guest backend sync work without any platform service. Platform linking is optional and is used to recover an existing save. When platform save services are enabled and you are signed in to Apple Game Center or Google Play Games, the App may use your existing platform gaming identity to link your App wallet and game data. In that case:
- the App receives identity proofs from Apple or Google, such as a pseudonymous player ID, a signed identity proof or a server authorization code, and sends them to a developer backend we configure to verify the link;
- that backend may store and sync game checkpoint data, such as your level, score, attempts, hints and coin balance, so you can restore progress.
We use this information to link your wallet, save and restore progress, and prevent fraud. Apple and Google process their own sign-in data under their own policies. If platform services are unavailable or you are not signed in, the App continues with guest play and local saves.
Native leaderboards (when enabled)
When native leaderboards are enabled and you are signed in to Apple Game Center or Google Play Games, the App submits your cumulative Ranked totals to that platform. Depending on the platform's settings, the platform can display your scores, ranks and your platform profile name or avatar to other players. Apple and Google operate their respective leaderboards and handle visibility and retained rankings under their own policies.
3. Advertising
The App is being set up to show a banner ad at the bottom of the screen using Google AdMob. Ads are requested only when Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) indicates that ads may be requested. Depending on your region and the choices you make, ads may be personalized, non-personalized or limited. Even non-personalized or limited ads involve some data processing, for example to deliver the ad, measure it and prevent fraud.
When ads are shown, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect or process information such as:
- your IP address, which can be used to estimate your approximate location;
- advertising identifiers, device identifiers and app identifiers;
- ad impressions, taps and other interactions with ads;
- app launch and interaction information;
- crash, diagnostic and performance information.
This information is used to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud and abuse, and maintain and improve Google's SDK services. Google and its advertising partners process this data under their own policies. Learn more in the policies.google.com/privacy page, how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and manage your Google ad settings at myadcenter.google.com/. Google's own data disclosures for the Mobile Ads SDK are available for developers.google.com/admob/android/privacy/play-data-disclosure and developers.google.com/admob/ios/privacy/data-disclosure.
Your advertising choices
- Where required, the App's settings include an "Ad privacy choices" entry that lets you review or change your consent choices.
- On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's privacy settings.
- On iOS, access to the advertising identifier (IDFA) requires your permission through the platform when it is requested, and you can manage tracking permissions in your device settings.
4. Coin purchases (when available)
The App contains code for optional coin packs that can be used for hints in Ranked play. Different hints, such as corner and line hints, can cost different numbers of coins; the cost is shown in the App before you use a hint. This feature is not yet publicly available. If you use coin purchases when available, the following applies.
Payments are handled by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We do not receive your full card or payment details. To provide coins and keep purchases reliable, a purchase wallet uses:
- a pseudonymous wallet ID and a secure credential stored on your device;
- store product IDs, transaction IDs, purchase tokens or receipts;
- your coin balance, records of hint redemptions and solve-reward records (puzzle identifier and game mode).
This information is used to verify purchases, prevent fraud, restore or retry eligible unfinished transactions, and provide coin functionality. The wallet credential stays in secure storage on your device. A developer backend we configure receives purchase verification data, coin balance requests and hint requests. Coin purchases require an internet connection and availability in your app store.
5. Contacting support
If you email privacy@sqwhere.cc, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it to respond and to help with your request.
6. This website
This website has no accounts, newsletter, or contact forms. We do not add separate advertising pixels. Our hosting provider may process technical and usage information, including IP address, browser information, page visits and request logs, to deliver, secure, maintain and measure operation of the site.
7. Why we process information
We process information as needed to provide the App and website, keep them secure, complete and verify transactions you request, respond to you, and show ads subject to the consent choices that apply in your region. Where the law requires a specific legal basis or consent, we rely on the basis that applies to the relevant activity.
8. Sharing
We share information only as described in this policy, including with:
- Google, for advertising through AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK;
- Apple and Google, for store billing when purchases are available;
- wallet and verification services we configure to support coin purchases and earned coins;
- when platform save services are enabled, Apple (Game Center) or Google (Play Games) for identity verification, and the developer backend we configure for wallet linking and checkpoint storage and sync;
- the developer backend we configure, for syncing Practice and Ranked progress with a guest wallet identifier and device credential;
- when native leaderboards are enabled and you are signed in, Apple (Game Center) or Google (Play Games), which receive your cumulative Ranked totals and may show scores, ranks and your platform profile name or avatar to other players according to the platform's settings;
- apps or people you choose when you share Daily Shape results through the system share sheet;
- authorities or others when required by law or to protect rights, safety and security.
Under some laws, sharing information with advertising partners may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You can use the in-app ad privacy choices and your device controls described above, and you can contact us with requests.
9. Retention
- Practice and Ranked game state (puzzle seed and level, puzzle identifier, solved and hint state, score and attempt counters) stays in secure local storage on your device until it is replaced by later play or removed through the App's or your device's storage controls. What happens when the App is uninstalled depends on the operating system. You can email privacy@sqwhere.cc to ask for deletion.
- When platform save services are enabled, linked identity information and synced checkpoint data (level, score, attempts, hints and coin balance) are kept on the developer backend as long as needed to provide saves and the wallet, protect integrity and meet applicable obligations, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Solve-reward journal entries are kept on your device until submitted or no longer needed, and on the backend as long as needed to credit coins and protect integrity.
- Progress synced with a guest wallet identifier and device credential is kept on the developer backend as long as needed to provide saves and the wallet, protect integrity and meet applicable obligations, or until you ask us to delete it.
- Daily Shape results stay on your device unless you share them; raw drawing traces stay on your device.
- Theme and haptic preferences may end with your session.
- Apple and Google retain leaderboard scores and rankings under their own policies.
- The secure wallet credential stays in secure storage on your device until it is replaced or removed through the App's or your device's storage controls; removal behavior depends on the operating system. You can email privacy@sqwhere.cc to ask for deletion.
- Transaction and security records are kept as long as needed to provide the service, protect purchase integrity and meet applicable obligations.
- Google retains advertising data according to its own practices.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, to object to or limit certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email privacy@sqwhere.cc. We may need to verify your identity as appropriate. Some transaction or legal records may need to be retained even after a deletion request.
11. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted communication for online features. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. International processing
Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, protections for such transfers are applied according to applicable requirements.
13. Children
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information, please contact us at privacy@sqwhere.cc and we will help.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version here and change the date above.
